Our club was formed with help and sponsorship of the Tokyo Tachikawa Rotary Club. It is with many thanks to them that we were approved and granted charter by Rotary International on 18th February, 1986. We now have eighty-eight members and we will commemorate our 20th anniversary on this date in 2006.

Last year, under the Rotary's Centennial Twin Club Program, our club became twinned with the Rotary Club of Lingen in Germany. We are enjoying many benefits as a result of this. These include such things as reciprocal visits by club members and a youth exchange program, both of which are creating exciting new opportunities and improving international communication and cultural understanding.

In another cross-cultural venture we are presently sponsoring two graduate students from China and another from Korea under the Yoneyama Scholarship Program and Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships.

If you are interested in learning more about the club and its activities, please feel free to come along to our weekly meetings that are held every Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Tachikawa Grand Hotel (tel. 042-525-1121). Visitor's fee is 2000 yen. Please be sure to confirm that there is no change in the schedule before making a trip.
